WHAT TYPES OF PATERNITY TESTS DO YOU OFFER?
Legal Paternity Test
This test is highly recommended. Results can be used in court to support any legal purpose, including: amending a birth certificate, child support orders, etc.
Non-Legal Test (Peace of Mind Paternity Test)
Often referred to as “peace of mind” testing, this test is a good option if you just want to know the truth and you do not need a paternity test that is court admissible.
Kinship/Relationship Test
DNA kinship testing helps to determine the biological relationship between two potentially related individuals such as grandparents, siblings, aunts or uncles.
WHAT’S THE PROCESS TO GETTING A DNA TEST?
1. Schedule your appointment online or by phone. Payment is due in full at time of booking.
2. Arrive to your appointment with Valid Government Issued Photo ID (all parties age 18 and over require ID)
3. All parties involved will be tested using a swab test
4. Test will get shipped to our accredited laboratory, test results will come back within 2 business days
5. Test results will be e-mailed.
HOW ACCURATE IS A PATERNITY TEST?
Paternity test use 21 genetic markers. Test results are more than 99% accurate.
WHAT IF THE ALLEGED FATHER IS INCARCERATED OR DECEASED?
If one of his parents are alive and available for testing, then a Grandparentage DNA Test can legally determine paternity.
WHAT IF I DON’T WANT THE ALLEGED FATHER TO KNOW ABOUT THE TEST, OR HE REFUSES TO COME IN FOR THE TEST?
If you have a toothbrush, eating utensils, toothpick or finger/toe nails from the alleged father, we can use those items to test for DNA. Please call us at 703-495-2348 for pricing and special instructions for preserving the items for shipping to the lab.
WHAT IF THE ALLEGED FATHER IS A MINOR?
If the alleged father is minor, consent from a legal guardian is required. This means the legal guardian will need to be at the appointment in order to give consent that the minor can be tested in our office.
WHAT IF THE MOTHER IS UNAVAILABLE FOR TESTING?
While a mother’s participation is strongly recommended, it is not required.
WILL MY PRIVACY BE PROTECTED?
Absolutely! We take our clients’ privacy very seriously. We will not release any information about your case to anyone without your authorization. We will always follow any special instructions you give us for communicating with you or other parties involved in your test
CAN I RECEIVE MY TEST RESULTS BY PHONE
No, we will not give you your results over the phone. Results will be sent by e-mail or arrangements can be made for an administrator to reveal test results at a designated office with all parties present in the event mediation or counseling is needed.
RESCHEDULE/REFUND POLICY
If you need to reschedule your appointment you must do so within 24 hours of your appointment time by calling 703-495-2348. There are NO REFUNDS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
